Col Ritchie

Col Ritchie is an Australian artist based on the Northern Beaches in New South Wales.

An experienced visual arts teacher, Col has inspired many young artists through his commitment to his art making practice.

Col has been illustrating and sculpting all his life and has been painting ‘seriously’ since his teenage years with landscapes, flora and fauna being natural themes since childhood. His numerous sketch books and enormous photographic archive have greatly informed his practice as has his constant study of noteworthy Australian and International artists.

Col harmoniously combines bold brush strokes and intense splashes of colour to create captivating atmospheric landscapes full of movement and mystique.

His paintings and sculptures are expressive and rich, underpinned with a refined sense of form, scale and place.
